Back in August, we dropped some knowledge about some new retail coming to 12th & Spruce Sts. One of the tenants, Odd Fellows Cafe, named after the five story, 12,000 square foot historic building in which they’re housed, finally opened this past Sunday, a few months past their originally scheduled November date.

Little did we know that Odd Fellows Cafe would offer so much more than their sister cafe, Spruce Street Espresso. While we love how comfortable and intimate the shoebox-like Spruce Street is, we love the new bright and shiny space with the designer touches in the furnishings at Odd Fellows. Odd Fellows has a full-fledged Latin themed menu from chef Jorge Reyes, that will be available for both lunch and dinner. Like Spruce Street, Odd Fellows will be offering Counter Culture Coffee, and artisanal teas from Rishi Tea. According to Eater, their goal is to educate the coffee lovers of Philadelphia, starting with “a La Marzocco Strada, which is the Lamborghini of espresso machines, and are planning on offering true siphon coffee in the coming months, which no one in Philly has ever tried.”

The addition of Odd Fellows will give neighborhood coffee lovers another option, and will give Philadelphia coffee connoisseurs a new palace for their drink of choice. According to their website, Odd Fellows will also be offering “top hats.” Not quite sure how or why, but we think we like it.
