We were going on our merry way through Point Breeze and noticed a little work being done at 2016 Ellsworth St. And by a little work, we mean they’ve ripped half the facade off of the building. The building, which sits on a 16×65 foot lot, has been on and off the market for the past couple of years.

Off she goes

Initially listing the property at the totally reasonable price of $280K in 2006, the seller came down dramatically in the intervening years, finally reducing the price to an excellent $130K and ultimately selling it for an outrageously low $82K last month. The buyer, Roisin Smith, has a home address in Ireland, according to public record. Her brother Kieran, who she likely made the purchase for, has done some other building around Graduate Hospital and Point Breeze, for example:

We’ll be interested to see what Smith has in store for this new project. We’ll certainly keep an eye on it as things move along.

Nb: It was clear we were being sarcastic about the pricing for the house back there, right? Ok, just making sure.
