Last fall, we told you about the then recently demolished 1133 Dickinson St., a blighted home on a triangular lot. Before it came down, it was looking pretty rough.

We were not kidding

Back in September

Though one commenter was concerned that this demoed house would be a vacant lot for the foreseeable future, we’re happy to say that construction has been going on at this site for a few months now. The new building is perhaps less visually interesting than the home it replaces, though it will certainly represent an improvement over the blighted shell.

A few weeks ago, facade was nearly finished

Slightly different angle

A few days ago. Bay windows are being stuccoed, from what we can tell

The developers, Dickinson LLC, also rehabbed the property immediately to the west, according to another one of our commenters. That property, a 750 sqft home with 2 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms, sold last year for $277K. This new home sits on a much larger lot and figures to be almost twice the size of the house next door. Between its larger size and the fact that it’s new construction, we would imagine the developer will be able to get a price in the low to mid $300K range. Maybe even higher?

Though the odd shape of the lot presents some architectural challenges, we suspect a buyer with a desire to live in a totally unique home in an excellent neighborhood will jump on this property rather quickly.

Can’t wait for the open house.
