Over the past several months, some empty lots at the corner of 26th and Montrose Sts. have been transformed into three fancy new homes, still under construction.

The three homes, built by Oh Hoo Ho and Oh Eun Young, are at the end of Montrose St. on this side of the river, and pretty much abut the Veolia Plant, and a series of what appear to be transformers. Despite the undesirable next door neighbor (and perhaps especially because of this neighbor), we imagine the houses are fairly high end.

Another unfortunate neighbor for the home on 26th St.

Across the street. Yuck.

So we’re left wondering: Just how badly does someone have to love one of these homes on the inside, and how low will the price have to fall for a buyer to take the plunge on one of these homes? Or is it not a big deal, after all? Only time will tell.

In other news for this block, the proposed Metro Impact project in the middle of the block was met with opposition from the neighbors to the north on Christian St., who objected to the height and lack of rear yard space for the new homes. We’re not sure of the status of this project at this time, but nothing has changed on those lots since we originally told you about the project in December. We’ll keep our eye on this and provide updates if we hear anything.
