As we teased yesterday, there is additional development coming to the busy intersection of 10th and South Sts. in the near future. It’s not as exciting as a new Garces restaurant, but many locals will probably welcome the new amenity for the neighborhood.

Currently the home of All Occasions Flowers

A couple of months ago, building owners Milan Enterprises LP went before the ZBA and proposed tearing down the rear of the building (the green part, from the looks of it), and rebuilding it to use the entire first floor for a financial institution. We did some asking around, and learned that PNC Bank will be coming into the space. We haven’t gotten confirmation on when this is taking place, nor do we know where All Occasions will move to when the time comes. We do, however, have some renderings of what the bank is going to look like, once construction is complete. Renderings come from Bohler Engineering.

Rendering from Bohler Engineering. We dig the new street trees.

Looks like bike racks made out of the PNC logo. That family looks creepy.

Though there is a Nova Bank on the next block of South St., this would be the closest major bank for many people in Bella Vista and lots of people who live just to the north as well. The next closest PNC branch is a mere six blocks away, at 5th and Bainbridge Sts., but it seems that the South St. corner gets quite a bit more foot traffic during business hours. With the bank on the way, it looks like Whole Foods is probably going to want to expand their floral section- the demand will probably be going up very soon.
