For the seven of you who are not down the shore this weekend, we encourage you to check out today’s somewhat under-publicized Rittenhouse Square Block Party. A block of 18th St. will be closed to cars as Rouge, Parc, and Devon turn their sidewalk seating into street seating until 10pm. Live music will also be happening, from what we hear.

If you’re not looking to while away the hours drinking in the street, an expanded Rittenhouse Farmer’s Market is running until 3pm. We recommend the funny-colored tomatoes.

And if you’re looking for a night-cap, live on St. Albans St., or think you see dead people, Friends of Rittenhouse Square and the Philadelphia Film Society are presenting a screening of M. Night Shyamalan’s last good film, The Sixth Sense, at 8:30 on a big screen in the Square.

And best of all, it shouldn’t be too crowded. Thanks, New Jersey!
