A reader tipped us off about the new Rosario’s Pizza which opened about a month ago at 15th and Wharton Sts. The space had been vacant for the past couple of years, and was most recently Charles Bistro, which specialized in Soul Food.

Rosario’s is a combination of a pizza joint and a Mexican spot. Their specialty house pizzas include Mexican flavors like salsa verde, chipotle sauce, and poblano peppers, but they also offer the run-of-the-mill options like buffalo chicken, hawiian etc. Along with pizzas and cheesesteaks, they also serve burritos, tacos, and quesadillas. This culinary combination isn’t exactly the sort of thing you see every day, but they definitely make it work.

Rosario’s is the newest in the wave of eating and drinking establishments to open in Point Breeze in recent years. Along with Circles, South Philly Tap Room, Brew/Ultimo, and the on-the horizon American Sardine Bar, Rosario’s helps make Point Breeze a neighborhood that more people want to visit and new people want to move to. We look forward to more new business coming to Point Breeze, and can’t wait to stop by for a slice. Or maybe some nachos…
