Recall, back in March we told you about plans for the Museum of the American Revolution, which would be replacing a vacant architectural disaster at 3rd & Chestnut. We passed by the site a couple days ago, and spied some progress.

Much of facade is gone

Awful tower is getting demoed too

Much of the building's facade has been demolished, though the original roof remains. The adjacent tower, which once held the Bicentennial Bell, is also getting demolished, albeit more slowly. We wonder, will they take the tower down brick by brick, or can we look forward to an implosion? However it goes, it will eventually be taken down, to be replaced by a lovely new museum. We'll take it.
