Fourth Wall Arts is a nonprofit arts organization based in Philadelphia that grants participants the opportunity to see the most exciting and unique visual and performing artists in the area during its monthly Art Salons (held every fourth Friday). Post-performance receptions also give guests a great chance to interact with the artists while enjoying beer, wine and locally grown vegetarian foods (all covered with admission) to ensure that you will get the most out of your experience.

The Fourth Wall Arts today, May 28, is just a little more special than the others, as it will mark the organization’s first anniversary. The Arts Salon will return to its birth-place venue at the Media Bureau (725 N. Fourth Street) in Northern Liberties for today’s event and will feature an appearance by artistic director Brinae Ali, open bar and vegetarian dishes. Performances range from the fine arts, to dance, music, poetry and even kung fu; Fourth Wall Arts is open and interested in all forms of art, emphasizing quality above all else. Co-founders Keir Johnston and Elijah Dornstreich assert that the program really seeks to take advantage of the diversity and liveliness of a city climate, offering both a “refuge from the scramble and cynicism of professional life.” Check out the full lineup here.

Tickets are limited and Fourth Wall Arts warns that the event will sell out. Purchase an advance ticket here for $15. Doors open at 6:30pm. —Alex Graziano
