It was over two years ago that we first noticed the demolition of five buildings on the 800 block of S. 15th St., and speculated that Universal chief and music legend Kenny Gamble was building himself a mansion on the site. Months later, our suspicions proved accurate as Gamble’s representatives presented a concrete plan for a building on this site to SOSNA. And since then, it’s been all quiet on the Kenny-Gamble-mansion front.

A reader gave us the heads up that this long-fenced-in lot has finally seen some action in the last week or so. Hopefully, this means that a building will soon rise here, which will certainly be among the most unusual in the neighborhood. We’ll be sure to maintain a Kenny Gamble mansion-watch in the months to come, and will provide updates as interesting stuff happens here.
