Palmer Park, a little green space on Frankford Ave. in Fishtown, is getting several new neighbors in the very near future. Considering the idyllic setting (and the relatively close proximity to the new and tasty Pizza Brain), we might just move there ourselves.
On the park’s northeast corner, 536 E Palmer St. has been framed and sheathed. On land purchased by 240 Dupont Street LLC back in June for $105,000, this new home will have three bedrooms, parking, and “a kitchen and bathrooms that will blow your mind!!!” according to the listing. It should be finished by November 1st.
On the other side of the park, 1456-58 E Columbia Ave. are two other new homes currently in process. We actually mentioned these homes in passing last month, when we told you about their sister homes, going up on Frankford Avenue. In contrast to the homes fronting Frankford, the Columbia Street homes will be able to see the park from their stoop.
Finally, five additional homes should be coming soon, where a triangular red brick building once stood. We originally told you about this project in March. And while no construction has begun just yet, the old building has come down, meaning the project is one step closer to moving forward. Next door to this project (and not really surrounding the park, but whatever) are Postgreen’s Avant Garage homes.
A commenter back in March said that the vacant warehouse in the background in the photo above should be in line for a residential conversion sometime soon. Has anybody heard any updates about this?
