A new brewpub is coming to Fishtown and its being brought to us by the people behind Azure (now Cantina Dos Segundo). Father/son duo Bob and Brandon Bitros will take over Moe’s at 1235 E. Palmer Street to open Interstate Draft House. Chef Julio Rivera, the former chef at Azure, will be taking the lead in the kitchen at the new digs, and for those that have missed them he will be incorporating his signature beef and seitan tips that were on the menu at Azure on this menu as well. According to Bitros, the rest of the menu will focus on locally sourced ingredients from all over the country, accompanied by 16 on-tap beers.

Local Philadelphian’s seem to be welcoming the idea for Interstate Draft house, as Moe’s needed a bit of an update. One thing that the locals are curious about is whether or not the new spot will continue Moe’s tradition of offering a bus trip from the bar to the Phillies games, but it looks as though that’s another aspect that will rest in peace with Moe’s. Most are happy with this decision, as they feel offering the bus trip brought a much more rowdy crowd to the bar than they desired. With multiple, popular bars in the surrounding area (i.e. Kraftwork, Johnny Brenda’s, Kung Fu Necktie (which is up for sale), and the M-Room), there will definitely be some relevant competition, but seeing as though there are a lot of locals that miss Azure, it seems there is an anxious crowd that is patiently awaiting Interstate Draft House.

Interstate Draft house is set to open in just a few months, and you can follow its progress via their Facebook.
