When we told you about the proposed five-story building at 2333 Fairmount Ave. last week, many people were excited to hear about the plan but skeptical about what the building would ultimately look like. Several commenters suggested that Loonstyn Properties doesn't have the greatest track record in terms of architecture, and they were concerned that the new building would follow that trend. As a reminder, here's a view of the site today:

A neighbor reached out over the weekend, sharing renderings that were presented at the most recent FCA meeting. And you know what, they look pretty great! If the actual building matches the renderings from CANNO Design, it will be a great addition to Fairmount Avenue.

It's worth mentioning, one commenter on our original story owns a property on Perot Street that backs up to the Olive Street side of this project. They're concerned about the traffic that will flow through the back of this property, as residents will access the underground parking via an entrance in the rear. In addition, they don't appreciate the added density or the fact that trash pickup will occur via narrow Olive Street. This neighbor, along with some others, are also arguing that they weren't propertly notified about the project or its associated community meetings, and they are the reason the project was continued last month at the ZBA. It remains to be seen whether their efforts will alter the project in any meaningful way, but given the identity of the developer here, we'd say it's a guarantee that something will happen sometime soon in one form or another.
