Back in December, we updated you on two projects on the 800 block of Christian St.

At the time, the project on the south side of the street was in the very early stages, basically moving dirt around. On the north side of the street (really the 800 block of Darien St.), a few foundations were poured, and some footers awaited additional concrete.

The amount of work that’s taken place in the weeks since we last checked in pretty much boggles the mind. On Darien St., three homes are framed out. On Christian St., three homes are in the process of being framed out.

On Montrose St., the rear section of the Christian St. project, we observed a ton of progress. Were these crews working all day and all night in the last six weeks?

With the speed at which the homes are going up, we imagine the developer is quite optimistic about the sales of these new homes. The only drawback that we can conjure up regarding these homes is that the views from some of the Montrose St. homes won’t be picturesque. Hopefully not for long.

This thing is, unfortunately, right there on the corner.

And here’s some more good news: This development apparently spurred interest in the vacant, former city pool that’s down the street. It’s currently under contract.
