Last fall, we wondered about a new bar/restaurant apparently on its way to 2370 E Norris St., a relatively new building with a giant front porch located at a six-point intersection in Fishtown. We quickly realized that this would be a new concept from the talented folks who brought us A Full Plate Cafe, a beloved little byo that made its home on Liberty Walk until it closed a few months back.
Today, Cedar Point Bar and Kitchen officially opens for business, though we were lucky enough to visit them during their soft opening this weekend. Despite the fact that the establishment isn’t yet open for business, the place was packed. Nevertheless, we were able to enjoy a couple of adult beverages and some delightful food that could described as “elevated Full Plate” style.
This is just one more welcome addition to the growing Fishtown bar and restaurant scene. While many new places have arrived on Frankford or Girard in recent years, attracting crowds from outside the area, the fact that this place is tucked snugly in the neighborhood should mean a more local vibe. And with the excellent and popular Loco Pez across the street, this intersection is set to become a new neighborhood destination.
See you there?
