Only a few months ago did D.C.-based and 100% sustainable (even the furniture is reclaimed) SweetGreen move into Suburban Square. Guess people like eating healthy; student-started (Georgetown students, sorry Penn) SweetGreen is now coming to the Radian at 3925 Walnut Street in University City. Slated for a grand opening in April, co-owners Jonathan Neman, Nathaniel Ru and Nicolas Jammet are hoping that Drexel and Penn students alike will be able to nix the dull campus cafeteria food from their daily routines and grub on organic and healthy salads and fro-yo on the go. The second Philly location seems to be opening so quickly after the first, but with backers like Mario Batali, Joe Bastiniach (Eataly and Babbo), Seth Goldman (Honest Tea) and Gary Hirshberg (Stonyfield Farms), we aren’t too worried. If you’re a Upenn student who knows their way around social media, SweetGreen is looking to hire you as a “campus brand ambassador.” E-mail them here after reading the job description. Judging by its Facebook page, SweetGreen is a super fun place to work and we’re excited it thought of Philly as its next city locale!
