We were in the area the other day, and moseyed on down one of Northern Liberties’ narrowest streets to check out some development on display. 1018 and 1020 N. Leithgow St. were previously vacant lots, but now they contain two rather tall framed out homes with garages.

In the past

Last week

1018-28 N Leithgow St. have been owned by developer Brian Mayberry for about a decade, and have sat vacant (though well maintained) over those years. A year and a half ago, he presented to NLNA for the construction of six homes, and received the necessary approvals. Over the summer, ground was broken for the southernmost two homes, according to the Somers Blog.

View from the south

We confess, this was the first time we walked past this development since it went in the ground, but doesn’t it seem like it should be further along, considering it was framed out in the late-summer/early-fall? Are there neighbors out there who can provide some more detail on the progress or lack thereof for this project? Also, does anyone know when groundbreaking can be expecting for the additional four homes planned for the development?
