Last year CineFest was cancelled; this year they are back and bringing some martial artists and an outdoor street fair with them. The Philadelphia Cinema Alliance has officially announced the dates for the 2011 edition of Philadelphia CineFest on April 7-14, 2011. The festival will feature more than 135 films including Oscar-nominated Incendies, Cannes-entry Two Gates of Sleep and Bhopali, an industrial-disaster documentary that won both the documentary prize and the audience award at Slamdance.

Besides films, CineFest is taking it to the streets with some outdoor fun. On Saturday, April 9, in front of The Ritz Five, the festival will celebrate all day and evening with the first-ever free CineFest Street Fair, complete with filmmaker interviews, musicians, special guest MC’s, comedians, food and vendors. The next day, Sunday, April 10, festival goers will head to The Piazza at Schmidt’s for an all-day martial arts mini-fest, with action star Tony Jaa, which will screen all three of his films and feature martial arts demonstrations all day.
