We’d imagine that at least a few of you are preparing to run in this weekend’s Broad Street Run. A Philly tradition, this race gives participants the opportunity to experience almost all of Broad Street, from Somerville Ave. all the way down to the Navy Yard. For some, however, the Broad Street Run will merely be a warmup for a slightly longer race coming up next month- the ODDyssey Half Marathon.

From last year

While the Broad Street Run had become an institution for serious runners in Philadelphia in its thirty-plus years of existence, the ODDyssey Half Marathon is a sillier take on things, with (optional) costumes, a post-race party with beer from Sly Fox, and secret (and again optional) challenges along the way. The course, by the way, runs through Fairmount Park, starting at Memorial Hall Green, cutting along the Belmont Plateau, making its way to West River Drive, and ending back at the Please Touch Museum.

The tentative course

Why do we bring up this race on this here real estate blog, you may ask? Welp, one of the secret challenges will be run by OCF Realty. All runners who complete the OCF challenge, and every age category winner will have their name put into raffle, with the winner getting a chance to win a $30,000 down payment on a new home. To win the down payment, the lucky person will (merely) have to complete a 60 foot corn hole toss. And for non-runners, OCF will select one Facebook friend to participate as well.

Even fake Elvis could be a winner

Think this race sounds fun? Have nothing to do on June 9th? It’s not too late to register. And if you use the code NakedPhilly when you sign up, they’ll knock five bucks off the registration fee.

See you there? If you see a fox struggling to keep the pace after mile two, come say hey.

Disclosure: OCF Realty is the parent company of Naked Philly
