We like Tria, but we loved the Tria Wine Room at the Left Bank. Smaller, quieter, and lower key than its Center City sister bars, this establishment was a great spot to grab an after-work drink, or a pre-dinner snack. Often busy but rarely crowded, Tria Wine Room was a favorite of ours but wasn’t for everyone apparently, as the business shut down in May. We haven’t heard what will be coming into this space, has anyone out there heard anything?

Former Tria

Meanwhile, a few doors down but also in the Left Bank, a new bar will soon be opening in the space that most recently was home to Trophy Bikes. The sign in the window indicates that the name of the place will be Saint Declan’s Well, and it appears as though the business will be opening in the coming weeks. Their Facebook page shows that construction is moving along, and their website suggests an August opening. Oh, and they’re currently hiring.

End of June

Sure, we’re bummed that the West Philly Tria is closed, and we would imagine that Left Bank residents are even more upset. Fortunately, this new establishment should help fill some of that void. While we can’t imagine the new place will have the same wonderful vibe that Tria had, we’ll certainly be willing to give them a shot (and a pint!!!) after they open their doors. In the meantime, we’ll just have to get our West Philly Irish pub kicks in at New Deck Tavern, at least until the Penn kids come back next month.
