We were in the neighborhood the other day, sniffing out a lead, when we stumbled onto the backside of a project at 1120 N. 3rd Street. You may recall, we’ve mentioned this project a couple of times; three homes are replacing an old HVAC contractor’s office, with two homes fronting Galloway Street and one home fronting 3rd Street. At this time, the two Galloway homes are well underway, and work hasn’t yet started on the third home.
In case you’ve forgotten, these homes were designed by KJO Architecture and will have a very contemporary look once they’re complete. This will fit in well with some of the surrounding newer homes.
Meanwhile, just a few doors to the south, at the corner of 3rd & George, construction is still a few months away for the five-home project planned for this site by the Onion Flats people that we told you about a couple of weeks ago.
Be that as it may, in a year or two, this little stretch of 3rd Street will have experienced a near-complete transformation, with a ton of new construction and, as a result, new neighbors. Seems that as far as this neighborhood has come recently, it still has plenty of progress yet to come.
