Over a decade ago, before Mrs. Fox came into the picture, we occasionally found ourselves at spending some quality time at L’Etage to cap off a night on the town. We haven’t been back there in a long time, though we do occasionally make our way to Beau Monde, its sister establishment next door. On the other side of the club, at 607-611 Bainbridge St., a contemporary art gallery called Pageant: Soloveev has made its home since before the days that we patronized L’Etage. We were on this block the other day and noticed that the gallery is missing and its building is under heavy construction.

Yeah, that’s a very different look. From what we can tell, artist Daniel Dalseth, the operator of the gallery, is also the owner of the property. While you first might think that the building has a new owner, it turns out it’s still owned by Mr. Dalseth. He’s now creating a two story addition at the corner and doing some significant work to the first floor of the building. We can see an existing bay is getting some work done too. According to the permits for the project, the addition is residential in nature and will be combined with the existing residential space that previously existed to create a much larger apartment. And fear not, art lovers! The gallery is temporarily relocated and will be returned to this space once the construction work is finished. Maybe sometime toward the end of the year?
