Nearly three years ago, we brought a curious property to your attention on the 1100 block of Carpenter Street. This building had only one story of facade, and was open to the sky in the back. But it's been awhile, so we can't say we remembered the address so clearly. Passing by the other day and seeing a new construction site on the block, we were momentarily excited that the blight was finally gone.

Facade and building are gone

Alas, we took a few more steps and realized that the building that's under construction is a few doors to the west, and the blight at 1116 Carpenter St. remains.

One story facade remains

Will this thing ever get fixed up, or will the block be stuck with this blight forever?
