The weather is getting warmer, the trees are in bloom, and baseball season is almost a month old. Let's agree, Philadelphia in the spring is just the best. With the improving weather, you're probably looking for stuff to do outside this weekend. And we have a couple of suggestions.

Sprung!

If you're looking to do some drinking on Saturday, might we suggest getting Sprung! on South Street West? While we can pretty much guarantee Sir Mix-a-Lot won't be there, we can say with great certainty that the growing contingent of South Street West bars will be. You can buy tickets here. A $5 ticket gets you access to ride on a trolley that will be running on a loop between Broad and 23rd Streets and drink specials at several neighborhood bars like The Cambridge, Grace Tavern, and Doobie's. The event runs from noon til 6pm, if the flyer above wasn't clear.

On the other side of town…

If drinking isn't your thing, we also endorse the Northern Liberties Spring Sidewalk Sale. This will take place on both Saturday and Sunday (drinking on Saturday, shopping on Sunday anybody?) and involves sales at eight shops in Northern Liberties, mostly on 2nd Street. Participaring stores include Art Star, Duke & Winston, Arcadia, Once Worn Consignment, SWAG boutique, Bloom, Ritual Ritual, and City Planter. Look for refreshments too.

And the good news is, the warm weather is just getting started. We look forward to filling the next six months with outdoor drinking, flea markets, farmer's markets, cafe dining, festivals, and so forth. After a long winter, it will be especially sweet.
