Wash West is one of the core Center City neighborhoods. As you might expect in Center City, it has a little bit of everything. There are high-rise apartment buildings, mid-rise buildings, and row homes. The southern part of the neighborhood features part of the South Street corridor and Antique Row, the northern section of the neighborhood includes Jewelers’ Row and a part of Midtown Village, and the western border is the Avenue of the Arts. Green space abounds in this neighborhood, with Washington Square (as you might expect), Seger Playground, and Starr Garden Park. Walkability is also a big perk of the neighborhood, as it’s in the middle of everything. Sure, parking is tough, but neighbors here have accepted that as a tradeoff for the area’s convenience.
