Almost two years ago, we first told you about plans for the Olive Townhomes, four new green homes facing a private courtyard on the 800 block of Carpenter Street. For quite some time, nothing happened at this site, but two months ago we brought you the good news that construction was apparently getting started in the near future.
We were in the area last week, and are pleased to pass along the news that the first two homes have been framed out. We're guessing the developers are waiting to sell one or both before getting started on the second pair. Still, it's great to see this project finally moving forward.
Back in the fall of 2011, we first told you about plans for the Olive Townhomes at 808 Carpenter St., half a block from the Italian Market. To refresh your memory, this project includes four large new homes facing a private courtyard, each with impressive green features. At the time, the prices being bandied about were in the high-$600K range. But aside from a sign posted in the lot, there has been no movement on this project in over a year.
Want to live in a brand new LEED Gold certified house that's tucked away in a mini community? Just steps away from the Italian Market, Olive Townhomes will be exactly what you're looking for. The lot at 808 Carpenter Street has been prepped for construction for four new 2,540 - 2,690 sf 3 bedroom, 3-3.5 bath homes with open floor plans and quite a lot of coveted private outdoor space. All four homes face a private courtyard; two of the four have on-site parking and the other two will have a spot in a parking lot just a block away. The developers will pay for those parking space for two years.
