The press release isn’t out just yet, but we have a bit of an early scoop on this year’s Dollar Stroll in University City, which happens every first Thursday this summer. From 5:30 to 8:30pm Baltimore Avenue between 42nd to 50th Streets will be packed with vendors selling everything for (wait for it) $1. This year’s vendors of $1 items include beverages and baked goods from the new Mariposa Co-op; Bassetts ice cream from the Milk & Honey Market; fresh-squeezed juices and mango lassis from Mood Cafe; brownies and mini sandwiches from The Gold Standard Cafe; focaccia and logo ping glasses from Dock Street Brewery; PBR from Elena’s Soul Showcase, Lounge & Cafe; espresso and vegan cupcakes from Green Line Cafe, samosas from Desi Village and Desi Chaat House; and cat and dog treats from Baltimore Pet Shoppe. There will also be $1 deals from Jimmies Cupcake Co. and Maru Global Takoyai.

As always there will be live music, street performances, food trucks and sidewalk vendors, and the University City District will be giving away the new West Philly mix tape download card, which features tracks from West Philadelphia Orchestra, Stinking Lizaveta, Dr. Dog’s Scott McMicken and Fan of Friends. Get there at 3pm to check out the Clark Park farmer’s market at 43rd and Baltimore and grab a Guapos Tacos from Jose Garces’ new food truck.
