Seen Top Chef but afraid you’ll never meet one of those guys? Fear not.

Tap into your hunger beast and congregate with the Olympians of Philly’s foodie scene and try your luck in a chef’s auction tonight at the FEASTIVAL, co-hosted by big-wigs Stephen Starr, Michael Solomonov and Audrey Claire Taichman, at Pier 9, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

In addition to bringing together seventy-six Philly restaurants and bars like Le Bec Fin, Zahav, Morimoto and Lacroix, guests will have the opportunity to bid numerous items, including a six-course homemade meal of aristocratic inflections. That means Daniel Stern (R2L, MidAtlantic), Georges Perrier (Le Bec Fin), Jeff Michaud (Osteria), Michael Solomonov (Zahav, Percy Street BBQ), Michael Schulson (Sampan), Terence Feury (Fork) and one of the sommeliers from Vetriall come to the high-bidder’s home to cook a meal the Romans might envy. Last year’s high-bidder dropped around $20K for this prize.

Hosted amidst and to benefit the two-week long Philadelphia Live Arts and Fringe Festival, the FEASTIVAL features the aforementioned world-class chefs and will honor former mayor and governor Ed Rendell. If you have any issues with the governor’s thoughts on Post Game Live, or you want to talk about the Phillies rotation order in Red October, here’s your chance.

Last year’s event saw ambient-art-gallery-exhibition-like lighting, dancers, artists, singers, acrobats hanging from tubes from the ceiling, and a New Orleans style dixieland band create an atmosphere that befitted Philly’s outstanding cuisine culture. Society folks, the mayor, and countless Philadelphia restaurateurs were in attendance.

This year, Cirque du Soleil type performances by Montreal’s Les 7 Doigts de la Main will bring Vegas-style acrobatics to Pier 9, while guests meander along the boards, chowing down and admiring the new Race Street Pier. Perhaps a Race Street Pier-like transformation is in store for Pier 9 sometime soon?

We hear that Philly hip-hop guru and rising late-night television icon, Roots drummer ?uestlove, may be in attendance, as his company, ?uest Loves Food, is one of the many providing food this evening. Hey, even if you don’t run into ?uest tonight, maybe you’ll spot the Guv or the mayor or get a glimpse of some top chefs doing their thing. And at the low low price of $250, why the heck not?
