Every home or apartment has its little quirks. When we lived above an arcade, a powerful jukebox below taught us the bass lines to every popular song from 2001. When we lived immediately next door to a bar, we heard some amazing conversations through a thin bathroom wall. Then there was the house in Boston where our bedroom got no heat all winter, which was totally awesome. We'd imagine you've had some hilarious and not so hilarious experiences as well.
The apartment currently for rent on the 2nd floor or 734 S. 20th St. will make for an interesting home for someone in the near future, but at least they'll know exactly what they're getting into. A reader was kind enough to send us the Craigslist ad for this place, which is located right above Raja Yoga.
The 600 sqft apartment is a pretty standard 1 bed/1 bath setup, with hardwood floors, stainless appliances, and a deck. The space was renovated about half a dozen years ago. It's available starting on March 1st, and the price is $1400/month. Here's the good news- the apartment comes with unlimited free yoga at the studio on the first floor. This is obviously amazing, so you're probably wondering about the catch. And here it is: loud tv, loud music, shouting, parties, and other noise-making are not permitted during evening hours Monday through Thursday and weekend mornings. Whoever lives here will also be required use area rugs and carpet pads to further decrease the noise heard below during classes, and the studio is willing to help defray some of those costs.
So… if yoga isn't your cup of tea and you blast Metallica as soon as you come home from work, this place probably isn't right for you. But if you're a quiet person that loves yoga and you're looking to live at 20th & Fitzwater, we may have found you your new home.
