1820-22 South Street
Back in December of 2011, OCF proposed two four-story triplex condo buildings at 1820-1822 South St. to replace a dilapidated building and a vacant lot. At the time, the South of South Neighborhood Association and South Street West Business Association were concerned about the height and use. Working hand in hand with both neighborhood groups, several changes were made to the project. One of the changes was to bring the first floor to grade so that if a commercial use ever became viable a conversion from residential to commercial could be done more easily. A second change was the sloping of the 4th floor, creating a mansard roof and a less imposing facade from South street. The revised proposal received support form both neighborhood groups and ultimately the Zoning Board of Adjustments.
Fast forward a year, and six luxury condos have been built and sold. Located next to a burgeoning commercial corridor on the northern most part of the Graduate Hospital neighborhood, the new construction condos are mixture of unique architecture and modern design.
